NYC apartment rentalIn two weeks my friend is leaving on a business trip for about a week and he has asked me to take care of his NYC apartment rental for the duration of his trip.  The funny thing was he was hesitant to ask me because he was not sure that I would do it.  If I refused, he would have been out of options for people to look out for his place when he left.  But I  almost literally jumped at the chance to take care of his apartment while he is away.  I have been over and have even stayed over his place more than a dozen of times in the last year alone and did not mind that I would be making that place my home for a week.

This will afford me the opportunity to test out the lifestyle of living in an NYC apartment rental.  I plan to sell my parent’s old house and move into the city and staying in an apartment for a week will allow me to see how I will like it.  It is also closer to my job in the city which will make the commute that much easier, at least for a week.

I honestly cannot wait to do some house sitting in the city.

NYC apartment rentalOn Saturday I was at my friend’s NYC apartment rental.  He was having a party for a recent job promotion so he invited me to come over for a few laughs, drinks, and a good time.  And of course, I found all of those things.

I remember entering his apartment and was taken aback by the dozens of people in the place.  I was not exactly surprised considering he is a very popular and affable guy who can get along with pretty much anyone.  After making my way through the kitchen and dining rooms – all the while saying hi to the people I knew – I found my friend entertaining a few guests in his living area.  He saw me, greeted me, and offered me an unopened bottle of my favorite beer.  I joined him and just had a great time for a couple of hours.  As the night was winding down, someone suggested we do some bar hopping and we all paused for a moment.  And pretty much in unison we all agreed that would be an awesome idea.

That is what I love about a NYC apartment rental: once we are done partying at the apartment we can just walk a couple of blocks to a bar or club where we can have some more fun.

no fee apartments NYCThe better question is, why not?  Why would anyone actually want an apartment they would have to pay a fee for?  That is an easy answer to give: absolutely no one wants to pay a fee just for finding an apartment in the city.  But is that not the only option when looking for an apartment there?  Again, easy answer: that is not true.  Rent Direct is the place to visit when you want a no fee apartment in NYC.

Rent Direct offers a service that allows you to find the right apartment for you without having to pay for that ridiculous broker’s fee.  That broker’s fee can easily be used for an extra month’s rent or for more pertinent essentials like groceries, utilities, and other things that are important to you.  Looking for a no fee apartment in NYC is very possible and, in fact, has never been easier to do.

Trying to find a place to call home in New York should not be so hard.  Luckily for you, Rent Direct can assist you with finding a place on terms you can appreciate.  We will not ask for a broker’s fee and and do not have to expect to pay one.

rent apartment in NYCI absolutely love New York City.  This is why I want to rent an apartment in NYC.  I am just not sure which part of New York City I would want to live in.  I plan to rent an apartment with a very close friend of mine and he would like to live in Manhattan.  The truth is, I would like to live there too, but Brooklyn would be cheaper. I am a little hesitant to find a place in Manhattan because my job is actually located Brooklyn.  I would not mind the commute from Manhattan to Brooklyn – in fact, it would be much better than my present commute from New Jersey to Brooklyn.  Oh decisions, decisions.

Who would have thought that trying to rent an apartment in NYC would be difficult?  The process is not so difficult considering I was able to find a website that is going to help me do that.  Maybe I was just surprised at the many choices I would have.  My friend wants Manhattan; I want Brooklyn.  And both are viable options.  Tonight when my friend gets back from work I will have a sit down with him and discuss our options for where we want to rent an apartment.

nyc apartment rentalMe and a friend have decided to look for an apartment together.  We have known each other since we were kids and we grew up together; it made total sense that we try to find a NYC apartment rental together.  I honestly think it would work well.  We are both neat and organized guys, though we are not overly crazy with it.  Both of us are full-time professionals, albeit in entirely different fields; I am a writer and he is in finance.  Our personalities are about the same so there would not be any real clashes; at least, none that I can predict that would make the living situation volatile.

Another reason we decided upon a NYC apartment rental together is because we both love the city and would oftentimes hang out at the same places.  Naturally we each have our own group of friends we hang out with so we are not always around one another.  That said however, once we do find and settle into the right apartment we plan on hosting a giant apartment warming party and invite all of our friends.  Considering how many people we each know it is going to be a party to remember!

NYC rental apartmentThis weekend a very good friend of mine is going out of town for a business trip and he has asked me to look over his NYC rental apartment while he is gone.  I asked him if he was serious and he said that he would rather have someone look after it than just leave it empty for the weekend.  I told him I was up for it so here I am, writing this blog from my friend’s apartment!

I always loved the times I spent in his NYC rental apartment because it is so conveniently close to a bunch of my favorite spots in the city.  Within walking distance is a very good burger joint as well as an awesome pizza place we order from often whenever I come visit.  There is also easy and close access to public transportation: both buses and trains.  I tend to use the trains however because I know the routes much better than I do the buses.

I made sure to pack some clothes for a nice, long weekend in the city but made sure to stress to him that I had no plans of throwing a party in his absence.  He thanked me and went off on his way.

no fee apartments in NYCI have heard horror stories from friends of mine who have rented apartments in New York City.  First of all, they consider themselves blessed that they were able find an apartment in the city that matched somewhere close to their price range for a monthly rental.  Most of them do not even care that they have to commute a bit longer to work than they initially thought but, as the saying goes, you take what you can get.  Unfortunately however, some of my friends had to contend with paying fees to a broker that they were not aware they had to do when they chose their apartments.  Sadly enough, most paid the fee because they were not sure they would ever get a second chance at an apartment that matched their criteria.

With this in mind, I will only be looking for no fee apartments in NYC.  I do not see the point of having to pay a fee that might be the equivalent to a month or so of rent; I think that is preposterous.  That extra money could go for my first month’s rate and/or the expenses necessary to move into a new apartment.  If you are of the same mentality as me, no fee apartments in NYC are the only way to go.

NYC rental apartmentI just recently decided to move into New York City.  It was not an easy decision to come to but it was a necessary one.  Commuting back and forth from work in Brooklyn will be so much easier with the right NYC rental apartment.  The place I am in now, though an adequate place to live, is far enough from my job’s office that I have to wake up a lot earlier than I want to on a weekday.

When I started out apartment hunting, a couple of months back I stared out looking my local paper’s classified ads.  Nothing there was worth looking into so I graduated into looking for a NYC rental apartment on Craigslist.  I replied to a handful of ads but was disappointed each and every time for one reason or another.  There was a time when I thought about giving up altogether but was lucky enough to find a reliable service that allowed me to find the place that I was looking for.  And with relative ease too!

Soon I will be finishing up the paperwork for my new apartment in Manhattan and I will be able to start moving my stuff there.  i cannot stress how excited I am!

NYC apartment rental“Hey!  Thanks for coming!”

“Of course man, thanks for inviting me!  Also congrats on the new place.  I am loving the digs.”

“Much obliged.  Between work and actually moving in it took me weeks to decorate the place.  I am glad it turned out well.”

“Yeah it better, I did help you decorate the place.”

“And you did help me find the place.  Remember the weeks we spent roaming around for a NYC apartment rental?

“Ugh, do not remind me.  You kept looking on Craigslist for a NYC apartment rental until I referred you to the company that got me my apartment.  Before I did that you could not find a good place at all.”

“True enough.”

“You got really close that one time but the fee the apartment manager set was obscenely high.  He wanted double what the going rate usually is for an apartment like that.  It just did not seem worth it.”

“Yeah.  But I lucked out in the end!  I got this nice place now and it is all thanks to you.”

“I mean, I do not want to brag or anything but yeah, you owe me one I think.”

“Well, there are some beers in the fridge so help yourself!”

NYC rental apartmentsStaying in a NYC rental apartment has been one of the best decisions of my life.  Most of my friends live on Manhattan Island so being relatively close by has made meeting up with them so much easier.  Living so close to one another means we can also hang out more often which is absolutely fantastic.  But besides seeing my very dear friends, there are a lot of things to see in the city.  For example I am just a brisk walk away from Central Park and every now and then I like to sit on a park bench and read a book.  A friend of mine is part of local baseball league and on the weekends when they have games in Central Park I watch some of his games.

From my NYC rental apartment I can catch a train to The Metropolitan Museum of Art.  Really, the entire city is my oyster.  Sometimes after a night out on the town I would just walk around the city; truth be told, simply walking around late at night in the city is one of my favorite things to do.  Walk around at night and you will soon realize how true it is that NYC is the city that never sleeps.
