In two weeks my friend is leaving on a business trip for about a week and he has asked me to take care of his NYC apartment rental for the duration of his trip.  The funny thing was he was hesitant to ask me because he was not sure that I would do it.  If I refused, he would have been out of options for people to look out for his place when he left.  But I  almost literally jumped at the chance to take care of his apartment while he is away.  I have been over and have even stayed over his place more than a dozen of times in the last year alone and did not mind that I would be making that place my home for a week.

This will afford me the opportunity to test out the lifestyle of living in an NYC apartment rental.  I plan to sell my parent’s old house and move into the city and staying in an apartment for a week will allow me to see how I will like it.  It is also closer to my job in the city which will make the commute that much easier, at least for a week.

I honestly cannot wait to do some house sitting in the city.

On Saturday I was at my friend’s NYC apartment rental.  He was having a party for a recent job promotion so he invited me to come over for a few laughs, drinks, and a good time.  And of course, I found all of those things.

I remember entering his apartment and was taken aback by the dozens of people in the place.  I was not exactly surprised considering he is a very popular and affable guy who can get along with pretty much anyone.  After making my way through the kitchen and dining rooms – all the while saying hi to the people I knew – I found my friend entertaining a few guests in his living area.  He saw me, greeted me, and offered me an unopened bottle of my favorite beer.  I joined him and just had a great time for a couple of hours.  As the night was winding down, someone suggested we do some bar hopping and we all paused for a moment.  And pretty much in unison we all agreed that would be an awesome idea.

That is what I love about a NYC apartment rental: once we are done partying at the apartment we can just walk a couple of blocks to a bar or club where we can have some more fun.

Me and a friend have decided to look for an apartment together.  We have known each other since we were kids and we grew up together; it made total sense that we try to find a NYC apartment rental together.  I honestly think it would work well.  We are both neat and organized guys, though we are not overly crazy with it.  Both of us are full-time professionals, albeit in entirely different fields; I am a writer and he is in finance.  Our personalities are about the same so there would not be any real clashes; at least, none that I can predict that would make the living situation volatile.

Another reason we decided upon a NYC apartment rental together is because we both love the city and would oftentimes hang out at the same places.  Naturally we each have our own group of friends we hang out with so we are not always around one another.  That said however, once we do find and settle into the right apartment we plan on hosting a giant apartment warming party and invite all of our friends.  Considering how many people we each know it is going to be a party to remember!
